Robert Eugene Riggs

Mason, Michigan

Age 82, died December 31, 2011, born February 20, 1929 on the family farm, the son of George and Cora (Eifert) Riggs. He was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Dieter, Helen Riggs, and brother Lyle Riggs. Surviving are his daughter Susan Riggs, Roswell, Georgia, nephew Harold Dieter, Plantation, Florida, a special cousin, Ilene Hatt, Lansing, MI, niece Janet Dieter, Mason, MI and his beloved pet’s Snow Ball, Charlie and Helen Cat. He leaves behind many friends. Robert entered the U.S. Navy March 1946 under the Victory W.W. II act in 1946 and completed his tour in 1948. He was a graduate of Mason High School. His hobbies were assembling model planes and loved feeding and watch the birds, especially in the winter months. His loved fishing, and had fished at the same place for 20 years at Port Schnook, Grand Haven. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with the family receiving friends at the Chapel on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Leek Cemetery.
