Richard Truman Weber, age 89, died in Eaton Rapids, Michigan of natural causes and entered the glory of the Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. He was born on June 4, 1933, to Truman and Ruth Weber of Lansing, Michigan. He was older brother to Robert Weber of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
After graduating from Lansing Eastern High School, he joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served his country as a pilot honorably for 20 years until his retirement as Major in 1972. He served in the Korean War Conflict, Vietnam, flew top secret POW rescue missions, and various other assignments in Europe and Thailand. His career in the USAF took his family from coast to coast, living in Michigan, Canada, California, New York, and Massachusetts.
Following his retirement, he worked for Shell Oil Company for 15 years as an Area Manager. He enjoyed woodworking, designing, building, and refinishing furniture, being outside whenever possible, and spending time with family. His love and devotion for his faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, guided him daily. He was a Sunday School teacher, Bible study leader and Deacon in protestant churches wherever he lived.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy (Skutt), daughters Tracy (Tim) Bowden and Lisa (Paul) Fair, six grandchildren: Kate (Jeremy) Stiles, Allison (Owen) Pinckney, Andrew Bowden, Jonathan Bowden, Matthew (Jaime) Whitney, and Brandon (Megan) Whitney, and 15 great-grandchildren: Elena, Julia, Easton, Mara, Logan, Evan, Levi, Wesley, Keri-Lynn, Eloise, August, Kiera, Delanie, and identical twin boys due December 2022. He will be missed by all.
A funeral service for Richard will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the funeral home.
