Mark Allen Baker, age 64, of Mason, Michigan, passed away on July 22, 2024. Mark was born on September 20, 1959, in Mason, Michigan. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outdoors, whether he was tinkering in the pole barn or planning a fishing trip he would rarely take. A true family man, Mark cherished entertaining loved ones out on the lake, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever.
He lived most of his life in Mason, Michigan, and upon retirement, he became a snowbird, enjoying the warm winters in Fort Myers, Florida, and the beautiful Michigan summers at his cabin in Kalkaska.
Mark was passionate about music, especially classic rock. He played drums for a small local band he formed with his brother, Phil Baker, and their friends, bringing joy to many through their performances. He also dedicated Eight years as the head coach and president of the Mason Junior Bulldogs, positively impacting many young athletes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Anway) Baker; two sons, Cory (Jen Licata) Baker and Casey (Brittany Toman) Baker; two cherished grandchildren, Vincent Baker and Emma Baker; two brothers, Phil (Janet Briggs) Baker and Scott Baker; two sisters, Karen (Gary Smith) Vallance and Kaye (Dave) Maddix; sister-in-law, Lana (John Martin) Tyler, as well as 6 nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.
Visitation for Mark will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, Michigan 48854. The funeral service will take place Friday, August 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a luncheon at Vantown Community Church at 3504 E Howell Rd. Webberville, MI 48892.
