Age 95, died September 2, 2012 in Haslett, Michigan. He was born September 1, 1917 to Malcolm and Ethel (Olin) Cooper in Lansing, Michigan. Malcolm was a resident of Okemos all his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Europe and North Africa. He enjoyed working in his yard and feeding and watching the birds. He loved playing checkers with his grandchildren, spending time with his family and his dogs. Mal could fix anything! He was a member of Eden United Brethren Church. Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Teresa, Mary Ann, and Helen. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laurene, stepchildren Allen (Janice) Wolfe, Suttons Bay, James (Tina) Wolfe, Mason, grandchildren Sara, Emily, Lucas and great grandchildren Crew, Zander, Finn and Nora. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, Michigan with the Rev. Dan Bentz officiating. Military honors will follow. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be on Friday, September 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare, Michigan.
