Lila "Louise" Allen

She grew up in Holt, married Harry Allen the day after her 18th birthday and became a farmer’s wife. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking, playing cards, singing, dancing, and any gathering of family and friends. They retired from farming in 1965 to travel the USA then resettled in Mason in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry (1939); siblings, Mable Baum, Roy & Carlton Watters, Ellis Marshall & Ellen Watts; great-granddaughter, Rachel Louise Way; and husband for 52 years and ‘Love of Her Life’, Harry Allen in 1986.

She is survived by her children, Jane Somerville of Mason, Janet Jordan of Dimondale, Gene (Linda) of Suttons Bay, MI, and Jo of Van Cleve, MS, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. and a “Celebration of Life” will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S.
