In loving memory of Karen Ann Evans, born on July 27, 1947, and peacefully passed away on November 21, 2023. A proud graduate of Mason High School, Karen furthered her education, earning an associate degree from Lansing Community College. Throughout her career as a computer analyst for the state of Michigan, Karen showcased her dedication and expertise.
Beyond her professional life, Karen actively contributed to her community as a valued member of the neighborhood HOA board. Her passion for baking, especially her renowned German chocolate and carrot cakes, brought joy to family and friends alike. Always impeccably dressed and possessing an innate talent for decorating, Karen had a flair for making every space feel warm and welcoming.
A woman of strength and determination, Karen was known for her unwavering will. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and the TV show “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman”. Karen found immense joy in crafting with her beloved grandchildren, creating cherished memories which will be forever treasured.
Karen is survived by her siblings Tim Evans and Duane Evans, her children Tasha Evans and Mitchell Zigler, grandchildren Makayla DeJong, Madison Kost, Micah Hendrickson, Tobias Hendrickson, Chelsea Chartier, Ashley Zigler, Evan Zigler, and Sage Zigler. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Atticus DeJong, Bennett DeJong, Eliza Chartier, Miguel Zigler, and Alexis Zigler.
In addition to her family, Karen leaves behind dear friends Linda Blood, Linda Bateman, and Gerry Gerinold. She was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Evans. Karen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
A visitation for Karen will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854.
