     I was privileged to know Judy and her family back in the 50's.  She was a very special, talented, person back then.  She was very active both in our church as well as her school.  We have missed her  immediate family members who have gone to be with the Lord, and now she has joined them.    
     I will miss our corresponding of several years, but this I know, she is happily reunited with her Father, Mother, and brother, and some day we who believe in Jesus will be once again reunited, this time forever.

I remember Ms. Rohm playing our class "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" by Isaac Hayes from the Hot Buttered Soul album in our ninth grade English class.  She wanted to make a point about interpreting a work in different ways.  My ninth grade self thought she was kind of goofy but cool.  Her enthusiasm for teaching was not something I had encountered before.  I have never heard that version of the song since in all of these years without thinking of her.  She was a model of what a teacher should be.

I got to know Judy as an older adult.  I first heard her poetry at WITA and was blown away. Judy was very talented and excelled at whatever she did. She was an excellent and serious bridge player. What stands out for me Judy was a generous woman.  She gave freely and helped others.  I will miss her, and her big beautiful smile.

I had the pleasure of having Judy Rohm as a teacher and a  forensics coach. As a coach, she was creative---a fierce motivator with a kind spirit and great sense of humor. Under her leadership Albion Senior High School's Forensics Team dominated tournaments throughout the state of Michigan and even won a state championship. She gave us the confidence to speak in front of an audience with poise--- to move and motivate people. Her lessons are still very relevant for me today. We will miss you Ms. Rohm.

I was blessed to have worked with Judy when she was assistant principal at Mason High School.  I admired her quiet, dignified, gracious demeanor, sincere smile, kind words, and gentle heart.  I always smile to myself when remembering how difficult it was for her to be stern with my special education students because her empathy ran deep.  She will be missed and her impact never forgotten.

I did not know Judy as a close friend but I knew her and that's what mattered to Judy.  Judy touched the lives of each person around her.  Judy loved her students, her friends, being a teacher, being a principal; Judy loved giving.  Judy's poetry touched my heart;  I can  hear her voice reading her poems.  
Judy was a woman so many of us admired because she was a woman that made a difference in our lives and she will continue to make a difference in our lives.  How blest I am to have known her. 
 Judy was blest to have her amazing friend, Betty, who was there for her through this recent journey.

Your guidance with public speaking while I was on the forensics team at Albion High School has given me a life time of personal successes.  You were a teacher well above the others.  Thank you!

High school seems like a dim time from a lifetime ago but the memories of Ms. Rohm and the impact she had on my life are vivid. Thank you for challenging me, developing me and coaching me. The skills I learned from you help me every day. Reading the tributes from fellow students brought back a LOT of great memories. I am grateful. I hope these entries provide some comfort to everyone who is feeling this tremendous loss.

If it wasn't for this outstanding Teacher, Ms Rohm I am mostly sadden that I was unable to tell you Thank You, I doubt I would have taken up Stand Up Comedy.

Ms. Rohm was a God-send to most, if not all of the students at Albion High School for the years she was there and the students that had her.  She was an awesome teacher, fair and knowledgeable.  Even my mother, Diane Best, loved her too (my mother student taught under Ms. Rohm in 86, I believe).  My mother passed away the day before Ms. Rohm.  I am sure she met her up there, amongst all the others patiently waiting to greet her again.  She will forever be in my memories.  God's blessings on the family and friends everywhere.

Ms. Rohm was a great teacher, I was a student in one of her debate classes at Albion Senior High School.  She was a women ahead of her time and she truly made learning fun.

Ms.Rohm was a great gift to Albion Senior High school and influenced many students to achieve more than they ever imagined. She was a stand out teacher, mentor and forensics coach. My brother and I both enjoyed her class and being on the forensics team. Many great memories from my high school years include her  Rest In Peace Ms.Rohm we all loved you!

Ms. Rohm was such a fantastic human and great teacher!!  She not only gave her all in the classroom but outside of the classroom.   I noticed students who were not doing well in other classes....do Excellent in her class because she wanted every student to Succeed.   She added confidence and joy to the each student she taught.   She had dinners at her home and invested much time and positivity to so many.  She was one of my favorite people....not just Teacher.  Sara Starr

Judy was such a complex woman who lived a complicated life that at times seemed more challenging than anyone should be asked to face.  Throughout it all, she maintained a fighting and positive spirit.  I cannot quite believe we have lost her.  She was in my life for a very long time often surprising me with her talents like creative writing or genius at the bridge table, just to name a couple of many.  I am one of so many people who enjoyed Judy and admired her so much. I miss her being in my world. My sympathy to all.

I moved to Albion mid-junior year. Ms Rohm was one of my two favorite teachers.  Competing in Forensics really helped improve my self-confidence, and for that, i am forever grateful.

Ms. Rohm was one of the most influential people in my early teenage life. I had the honor of having Ms. Rohm as both an English teacher and Forensics Coach from 1984 - 1986 - when she coached our team to a State Championship. This woman introduced me to the short story, poetry and how to perform under pressure. I cherish the memories I have of this amazing person and those of us lucky enough to know her are better for the experience.

Ms. Rohm was the best and will forever be my favorite teacher at Albion High School!  She made a real difference in my life, not only by motivating me to read (and enjoy!) To Kill a Mockingbird and Macbeth, but also by pushing me as a person and a learner.   She also challenged me to take risks as my Forensics coach.  She was a true gift!  I only wish I would have talked to her after I became and teacher myself and let her know that her words and actions  were powerful.
I just got out my yearbook from Junior year and this is what she wrote:  "You have a special way. Don't lose that natural charm. You are a real Mug!"

To her family and friends she left behind, sending you my condolences and hugs.  Miss Rohm was my teacher in Albion.  She was an amazing person.  Will always remember when she handed our papers back to us, they would curl a little as she always pressed so hard with her pen. May she rest in peace now.  Heaven has another angel.

 By far, Ms. Rohm impacted my life immeasurably. Her classes were interactive and stimulating. She pushed her students to the next level and taught us to be creative people on many levels. Her sense of humor was keen, and her thoughtful nature apparent, giving gifts to each student that fit their personality. I fondly recall the 5 am alarm clock going off for a meet, or a weekend long tournament. We were a family, and many "students" are still are close friends, she helped cement that bond. RIP Judy, you are loved.

I still grab my phone with the intent of calling Judy, to share my day, get her thoughts on the latest political issue, the football season, a book I'm reading I think she will like, or just hear her voice...a voice that often calmed me, challenged me, made me laugh. I miss her terribly.  This woman experienced so much loss in addition to two bouts of really serious cancer, but maintained a strength and a sense of humor that were incredible. I loved sharing bridge games, writing classes, Broadway shows, book reviews with her. I never made a decision without consulting her because I knew she would offer honest, and sometimes, critical feedback. I loved her, I admired her, I counted on her and I will miss her always!! And my admiration and love extend to her beloved Betty who offered such wonderful care during these last months of serious illness.

It's been awhile since I've been in touch but I loved Judy very much. She was a sensitive, caring and amazing woman.  i knew her as a writer.  She was so incredibly talented.  I knew her from a grief group after her brother and friend died.  I knew her as a fellow meditator and spiritual companion. Though our ways diverged, I've thought of her so often and grieve her passing.  Betty, I am so very sorry for your loss.  I am so glad she had you in the last years of her life. You and all her family and friends will be very much in my heart and prayers during these difficult times. Barbara Wenger
