JoAnn Townsend

JoAnn Townsend was born on July 24, 1944 in Stockbridge, MI the daughter of Howard Bradford and Hazel Lucille (Wilcox) Townsend and passed away February 5, 2017 at the age 72. She grew up in Dansville and moved to Mason in 1963. JoAnn loved to cook and bake, was a teller at Dart Bank, a member of Mason First Church of the Nazarene and loved the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leland Townsend and one sister, Sue Ann Brooks. Surviving to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Penny Sue (Thomas) Hengesbach, Victoria Lynn (Dennis) Klein; one son, Nick Duane (Kelly) Johnson; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Keegan) Farrell, Jessica (Steve) Cordes, Hannah (Matt) Bieber, Fischer Duane Klein and Jorden Lawrence Klein; 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt and James Farrell; one brother, Clifford Lee (Aloha) Townsend and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Townsend.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Mason First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple St., Mason, MI. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Gerhard Weigelt will be officiating and interment will be at Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing, MI.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eve's House, P.O. Box 14149 Lansing, MI 48901 in memory of JoAnn or Mason First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple St., Mason, MI 48854.
