Gordon Lee Terwilliger, age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born December 2, 1948, the son of Max and Isidra (Mendoza) Terwilliger. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Margaret; daughter, Annie (P.J.) Terwilliger; son, Troy (Erica) Terwilliger; stepchildren, Bob (Luna) Brondage, Matthew (Kelly) Stornant and Stephen Stornant; fifteen grandchildren; brother, Max (Petra) Terwilliger; sisters, Mary (Martin) Cobb and Virginia (Larry) Kleiver; half brother, Fil Mendoza; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Glenna Terwilliger. Gordon retired from General Motors after twenty-nine years of service. Following his retirement he worked as a maintenance man for St. James Church in Mason, where he was active as a greeter and usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a third degree knight. Gordon loved helping others, especially anyone who needed help with car repairs. When he could no longer work on cars, Gordon enjoyed canning.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by The Rev. Kusi Cobona at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at St. James Church, 1010 S. Lansing St., Mason. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. James Catholic Church or Mother Teresa House, 308 N. Walnut St., Lansing, MI 48933.
