George Whitcomb Whyte Jr. of Mason Michigan sadly passed away at the age of 94 on December 19th, 2023.
George, a lifelong resident of Mason, enlisted in the Army ORD Corp in January 1951 and was stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In February of 1954 George married Nancy Rodocker and in 1956 built their forever home on Vanderveen Drive. After his Honorable Discharge he joined Oldsmobile as an apprentice in tool & die and enjoyed a lengthy thirty-eight-year career finally retiring as Foreman. George was an avid snowmobiler and was well known in the community, often frequenting trips to Northern Michigan to enjoy his passion. He also worked at Groves Motorsports servicing and tuning small engines for peak performance.
George is preceded in death by his parents George Sr. (Father) Isabelle Whyte (Mother) and his wife Nancy. Left to cherish his memory are sons Steve (Monique Whyte), Randy Whyte, and daughter Wendy (Mike) Reed and Grandchildren Mallory, Abigail, Nathan, Lauren, and Carys. Further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
