Gary Alan Cater

Gary Alan Cater, 62, of Mason, MI, passed away on November 11, 2024. Born on May 15, 1962, Gary was known for a vibrant passion for the outdoors, particularly tractors, deer hunting, and trail-riding up North on the side-by-sides. Gary was a dedicated attendee at steam shows, having missed only one in his entire lifetime.

Gary spent over 30 years working at Launstein Hardwoods, a commitment that showcased his dedication and hard work.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Kristi Cater; children, Kirstie (Charles) Lloyd, Keylargo Mooney, Kristipher Mooney, Killian Mooney, and Keanen (Jenny) Cater; step-siblings Todd (Michelle) Blatt, Stacy (Curtis) Beard, and Danielle Charon; siblings, Debbie (Scott) Kieffer, Anita Moss, Jeff Cater, and Dennis Cater; and grandchildren, Athena, Reid, Keyarra, Tommy, Kaitlynne, Kinley, Kolton, Alyah, Addison, Andre, Arianna, Logan, Camryn, and Charlie. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Jaqueline Cater (Motchuck), and brother, Joel Cater.

Gary will be remembered for his immense love for family and unwavering enthusiasm for life’s adventures.

A visitation and service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at the Eden Brethren Church located at 1938 Eden Rd, Mason, MI 48854. Visitation will start at 10am, with a service to follow at 11am. After services, there will be a luncheon at Church. Burial of ashes will follow at the Hawley Cemetery located on Dexter Trail in Mason, MI.
