Elnore "Sally" W. Holbrook

Elnore "Sally" W. Holbrook, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born in Laingsburg, MI on March 19, 1919 to Louis and Ruth (Foster) Gillilland. Elnore loved music and dancing, and cooking for her family and friends. She was a hard worker, whether in the workplace - starting with her first sales job at Woolworth’s and later at JC Penny in Lansing – or in her garden, tending to her roses. She attended Mason First Presbyterian Church for many years and greatly appreciated their fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Leckrone in 1958 and her second husband, Loren Holbrook in 2000, her brothers Merritt, Robert, and Doug, and her granddaughter, Michelle Jacobus.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nancy Jacobus and Kay (Dan) Ryan; her grandchildren, Father Michael Jacobus, Dan Ryan Jr., David (Marsia), Tim (Danette), Todd (Tara) Ryan, and Tami Critchfield; her 14 great-grandchildren; her 5 great-great-grandchildren; her 3 sisters, Helen, Jeri and Joan; and her kind and loving caregivers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
