Mason, Michigan
Age 89, passed away, July 6, 2015; born January 8, 1926 in Maywood, Illinois to Elmer and Esther Crandall. The family moved to Mason when he was 7. Elmer spent most of his working days as a mechanic, retiring from Wyeth in 1990, where he was the boiler room operator. He was a member of the Army Air Corp and toured Japan for a short time. Elmer had a love of airplanes and had always wanted to be a pilot. He was able to take a ride last July in a two-wing, open cockpit Stearman, thanks to a good friend. He would like to be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandpa and a good neighbor. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Peg; daughters, Sandy (Kevin) Bashore, St, Johns, MI, Susan (Gary) Culham, Altanta, MI; sons, Russell (Kathy) Crandall, Bellingham, WA, Roger Crandall, Port Orchard, WA; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a baby girl on the way; many loving nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Elmer’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI.
