Dorothy L. Lyon

Dorothy Lucile (Wildren) Lyon, age 99, died January 28, 2011. She was born March 1, 1911, in Charlotte, MI to Chelsea M. and Zella (Krebs) Wildren, graduated from Charlotte High School, worked at the Ingham County Road Commission, and lived in Mason, MI for 50 years. Dorothy liked to bowl, fish, and golf with her sisters; was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball and Detroit Lions football; and was a member of Mason United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Lyon; four sisters, Marie, Ruth, Audrey and Amert; three brothers, Harp, Fred and Frank; and one grandson, John.

Surviving are her 2 sons, Don (Julie) Lyon of Escondido, CA and Theodore (Loretta) Lyon of Okemos, MI; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with the Rev. Dwayne Bagley officiating. Special services provided by O.E.S., Mason Chapter #150 at 10:45 AM. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 10-10:45 AM. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI at 3:00 PM.
