Darryl Myers, 81, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on December 23, 2021. Darryl was born on July 29, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan to Herman and Marie Myers. He was the second of four children; his siblings Marilyn Riddle and Gary Myers survive him, while his youngest sister went to Heaven at only 9 years old.
Darryl graduated from Eastern High School 1959 and immediately entered the National Guard. He served for 6 years as a Military Policeman and was then employed by Oloffson Corporation for over 40 years as a Machinist, retiring at the age of 62.
Darryl married his wife, Barbara (Caldwell) on April 11th, 1986. They lived in East Lansing for one year before moving to their home in Eaton Rapids, where they lived for 34 years. Together they enjoyed fishing and camping, with Houghton Lake being a favorite destination. Darryl also enjoyed hunting deer on their 10-acre property. He was most passionate about studying the word of God, praying fervently, and spreading the word to others. This faithful servant spent years praying during what he called 'the night watch', from midnight to 3 am, every night for loved ones, politicians, nations, and anything that burdened his heart or others.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Myers, their son Joshua Myers, and Daughter in Law Melissa, as well as sons John Myers and Kenneth Myers from his previous marriage. Darryl also left behind four grandchildren: Sunshine, Shane, Stephanie, and Danielle, as well as great grandchild Zoe. He is preceded in death by his parents, younger sister, and infant daughter.
Per Darryl's wishes, his body was cremated at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Mason, and a celebration of his life will be held in the summer of 2022.
