Born August 3, 1942 to Margaret May (Laws) Karr Dacon and Lyle Karr. Charlie was a 1960 graduate of Mason High School. He enlisted in the Army upon graduation. Charlie was "introduced" to the woman who would become the love of his life, Jeanette Lorraine Kinney, during his service while stationed in Germany becoming pen pals thanks to his mom. Upon completion of his Army enlistment, he returned home to Mason to pursue and marry Jeanette and begin their 61 years of life together.
Charlie was a skilled tradesman with General Motors for 31 1/2 years. Upon retiring, he completed his life's dream of building his own 1932 Ford street rod piece by piece with his friends helping. He and Jeanette spent 23 years wintering in Arizona. Charlie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and puttering in the yard and in the pole barn.
Charlie is preceded in death by his father, Lyle; stepfather, Robert Dacon; adopted brother, Larry Karr; and his mother, Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Chuck (Jackie) Karr; daughter, Melissa (Tim) Mires; grandchildren, Tia (Ben) Nagel, Holly (Andrew) Mecher, Tori Mires, and Brook Mires; great-grandchildren, Leah, Emma, Jackson, and Charlotte (Charlie).
The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel. There will be a small private graveside service.
