Carol Ann Grant’s very first sunrise was April 12th 1940, her final sunset came on Oct 31st 2011, where she resided in Dansville, Michigan. As a small child she lived in the Lansing area until she moved to Washington State for a few years. When upon returning to Michigan her mother Catherine Viola ‘Vi’ Wood and her step father Jesse ‘Pete’ Wood resided again in the Lansing area where Carol graduated from Sexton High School in 1958.
Later in life, Carol and her four children moved to Potterville, Michigan where she bartended at Joe’s Potterville Inn, and Carl’s Supermarket before working for AFC homes in Potterville and Eaton Rapids. Carol was also a resident of Naples, Florida for fifteen years, where she waited tables for Guiseppies, Flemmings, and Shoneys while also working as an in-home health care aide.
Carol retired in 1997, and returned to Michigan where she would reside in Dansville until the time of her passing. Carol’s life was filled with love and laughter by her four children, and their spouses, Jesse and Amy Grant, Julie Phillips, Cim and Leonard Risner, Corey and Paula Grant; her thirteen grandchildren, Adam, Jennifer, Jamie, KC, Reba, Annastasia, Derrick, Kip, Kelsey, Alyson, Ashley, and Bo; her three great grandchildren; Jennifer’s child, Kash, and Mercedes.
Carol had many interests, she loved spending her down time reading, sewing, crafting with children and gardening. As a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother we will all miss you, your sense of humor, and the stories you told with guidance and good cheer.
A memorial service will be held Friday November, 11th at the Dansville Free Methodist Church, 1330 Mason Street Dansville, MI at 11am, with Pastor Amy Thompson officiating.
