Bruce Warren, age 87, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his family’s home after a long battle with heart disease and dementia. He was born on the family farm in Okemos on June 3, 1930 and lived his entire life in the local area. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia in 2001. They were married for 49 years. He is survived by the two children he and Patricia raised, Kathy (David) Lott and Michael (Angel) Warren. Also surviving him are five grandsons and their wives and eight great-grandchildren.
Bruce worked for the railroad for forty years. He began with the New York Central and after several company name changes retired from Con Rail. This was a job he truly loved and one of the joys of his life was the monthly breakfasts he attended with his railroad buddies after retirement. Bruce also worked with his daughter, Kathy feeding calves on the family farm for ten years after Pat died. He worked seven days a week, come rain or come shine until his health retired him for the second time. There will be a private family service on June 3rd of this year in St. Ignace, Michigan where he will be buried next to Patricia overlooking the lakes that he loved and the freighters that sail them.
The family is being served by the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.grbdmason.com.
