It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Philip Hankey, age 83, on March 13, 2025. Brian was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather. Born on February 5th, 1942 he spent his life surrounded by family, faith, and his many passions.
A man of strong Christian faith, Brian lived his life guided by love, kindness, and a deep commitment to serving others. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Mason and believed deeply in the power of prayer and community. His faith was a constant source of strength for him and his family throughout his life.
Brian was devoted to his beloved wife, Charlene, with whom he shared 56 years of love, companionship, and countless memories. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, joy, and a deep bond that will continue to inspire all who knew them. He was a proud and loving father to Brian “Jamie” (Tami) Hankey and Heather (Matthew) Giguere and a grandfather who adored his grandchildren, Loral (Jesse) Hawkins, Kate Hankey and fiancé Mason Phenix, Zoe Hankey, Grant Giguere, and Garrett Giguere. His legacy of love and devotion will live on in each of them. He is survived by his beloved sister Janet Noble, sister-in-law Sharon Hankey, nephew Steve Noble, nephew David (Barb) Hankey, and niece Lynnette (Paul) Kraklan, along with many extended family. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Charles “Chuck” Hankey, his brother-in-law Russell Noble, and his niece Susie Rogers.
In his free time, Brian was passionate about his hobbies, particularly golf and bowling. Whether on the course or at the lanes, he loved spending time with friends and family, always bringing a smile and a warm heart to every game. His competitive spirit was matched only by his generosity of spirit, always encouraging others to do their best and enjoy the moment.
Brian will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering devotion to his family and faith. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mason on Wednesday, March 19th with visitation beginning at 10:00am and the service beginning at 11:00am The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Mason.
