Allie Mae Henning, age 91 passed away on September 30, 2022. She was born on February 4, 1931 in Birch Run, MI to parents, Frank and Martha (Pafford) Wagner. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Patricia (Earl) Miller, grandson Jason (Jessica) Miller and their two children Phoebe and Bodie Miller, granddaughter Sara (Michael) Green and their two daughters Brooklyn and Harper. Her Brazilian daughter Vera and Brazilian son Luiz. They were foreign exchange students through Rotary that stayed with Allie Mae and Bob. Vera and Luiz still come to visit them.
Allie Mae and Bob did a lot of traveling with Rotary International visiting Australia, Brazil, Europe and Asia. She married Robert on November 21, 1953; they would have been married for 69 years. She is preceded in death by her son Gregory Henning in 1977, parents Frank and Martha Wagner, her brothers Leonard, Lyle, Harry, Carl, Marvin and sister Bernice.
She was a farm girl and could fix anything that was broken. She worked for Auto-Lite battery factory in Owosso. Allie Mae and Bob lived in Lansing, MI. After Greg and Pat graduated from high school, they moved to Richmond, MI. From Richmond they moved to Mt. Clemens, MI. While she was in Mt. Clemens, she was an assistant to the teacher and also was the van driver for Head Start, picking and dropping off the children. Later on, she also drove school bus for Chippewa Valley High School in Mt. Clemens. In 1988 Allie Mae and Bob moved to Clark Lake, MI to be closer to Pat, Earl, Jason and Sara. She was active in the church choir at Grass Lake Methodist Church and South Jackson Community Church. She loved to watch Nascar races on television. Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver.
Allie Mae loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong woman all her life and she will be missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, MI with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Funeral Home.
