Shirley Bruns

Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and adoring great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Bruns, Barbara Newman, Theresa Waters, Raymond Bruns, Julie Nierenberg and their spouses. Shirley leaves behind her eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by John, her loving husband of fifty-six years; her beloved daughter, Sherrie Marie; and her dear great-grandson, Evan Ray Sawyer.

Shirley Mary Glenadine Josephine Bauerly Bruns, was raised on a farm in Iowa and was the last surviving sibling from a family of thirteen. She dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed card playing, sewing and was an accomplished baker. Her specialties were cinnamon rolls, peach pies, and divinity.

Shirley warmed the hearts of all that had the pleasure of knowing her, with her engaging smile and affectionate hugs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marysville, WA. Burial will be at Holyrood Cemetery. Arrangements are with Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville, WA.
