Merle Coleman, also known as "Sonny", 70, of Marysville, WA passed away February 4, 2013, surrounded by his caring family. He had lived an exemplary life of kindness, integrity and hard work. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend.
Merle was born on October 24, 1942 in Everett. He was a Washington native for his whole life with a stint in the Army from 1968-69 based in Bad Kissinger, Germany. He worked in various saw mills for many years, retiring in 2010. He also enjoyed many bike rides on his Can-Am Spyder in the mountains. He loved being with his family, reading and fishing on the rivers.
Merle was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda and parents, Merle and Bernice.
He is survived by his children, Craig, Carolee, Heather and Jesse; brothers, Ray and Gary; sister-in-law, Mikey; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; various family members and friends.
His smile, laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m., Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave., Marysville.
