Lucy had many friends that she loved just like family at the Little Red Church. They meant the world to her. Lucy led an adventurous and full life. She was born in Los Angeles, CA. In her youth, Lucy spent many summers in Montana sitting in fire watch towers scanning the horizon for fires. She served in the 1st Battalion, 3rd Platoon, Co. "D" W.A.C. during the early 1950's. She met the love her life, Richard Young in Pullman, WA while attending college. She moved to Walla Walla, WA after marrying Richard, and helped Richard with the hard work needed to operate Young's Dairy Farm, in addition to raising their children. Lucy and Richard moved to Everett, WA in 1962, and soon after, to Marysville, WA where they lived, to raise their six children. In-between raising six children, Lucy worked as the Church Secretary and lector at St. Mary's Church for several years. Lucy was very active in the church and played piano for St. Mary's Church and the Navy Chapel. In her later years, Lucy attended St. Anne's Church where she made many close friends. Lucy enjoyed playing cards, calligraphy, playing the piano, stamp collecting, wood carving, and creative writing. Her sense of humor was amazing. She was always quick to share a joke with loved ones. Lucy enjoyed meeting and dining with friends at the Flap Jack restaurant. She was a friend to everyone she met. Lucy had a way of touching people's lives and lighting up every room she entered. You could not escape her infectious personality and sense of humor.
