Larry Norman Bjorn, 69, of Camano Island passed away at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA on November 14, 2011. Born on January 4, 1942 he was the son of Conrad Norman Bjorn and Velma “Babe” Bjorn (Blacken). Larry attended the Lakewood Grade School, Arlington High School, and Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University. A decorated veteran, Larry joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965 and retired from the Air Force in 1986. He served in Southeast Asia, Germany, California, Florida, Canada, and Washington D.C. . Larry was a strong Washington Huskies fan, a faithful Mariner fan and a true patriot. He is survived by his mother, Velma “Babe” Bjorn, Arlington, wife Susan at home on Camano Island, their daughter Kristin Baldwin, her husband, Christopher and a granddaughter, Amanda of Chandler Arizona, one Son, David Bjorn, of Phoenix, Arizona, one sister, Linda Campbell (Stephen) Mount Vernon, many nieces and nephews, and two aunts, Lila Moe of Snohomish, and Betty Blacken of Arlington, A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Camano Lutheran Church, 850 Heichel Rd. Camano Island, WA 98282. Memorials may be sent in Larry’s name to one of the following organizations: Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, World Hunger, The Wounded Warrior Project, or The Muhammad Ali Parkinsons Center (Barrows Neurological Foundation).
