Kylee Mae Walker born to Christy Wilman, 33, passed away on August 28, 2024. In Kylee’s short time here with us, she accomplished so much and touched the lives of so many. She was an entrepreneur, evangelist, ministry board member, but most importantly - she was an amazing mother and an unwavering wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend. Her passing leaves a void impossible to fill, and she is missed dearly by all those that she loved. Kylee was a beacon of compassion and dedication, leaving an indelible mark through her selfless service, unwavering commitment to others and to God.
Kylee’s legacy began with her first mission trip to Mexico in August 2000. On the trip back she wanted to go back and bring all her toys, which she later did. That trip was the start of Harvest Vision Ministries. In February 2001, her 10th birthday.
In June of 2008, at 17 years old, Kylee gave birth to her first daughter Madilyn. She stepped right into that roll like it is exactly what God created her to do. She was an amazing mother we all inspired to be one day. She stayed in school, worked, graduated, continued her mission trips and welcomed her second daughter Hailey just two years later in June of 2010. There were two things Kylee loved most, being a mother and the work she did with the ministry. She excelled at both, it was very clear her world revolved around her faith and her daughters. It was admirable to witness Kylee take on the world as a young mother. Nothing could stop her.
From her very first mission trip until she was 22 years old, she participated in every aspect of ministry from putting teams together to coordinating activities, from baptisms to outreaches for 25 mission trips to Mexico, including trips with her children and siblings, Madilyn, Hailey, Keira, Kamron and Keaton. Eleven years ago, Kylee and her daughters, Madilyn and Hailey started a project to build a home for orphaned and vulnerable girls at a school in Africa. They were given the name and information of a young orphan, named Peace, that was Madilyn’s age, that lived at the school to help raise funds for the project. In June 2013, they flew to Africa to meet Peace and bless Madilyn’s House which was only half built. On their return, they started the Harvest Kids ministry that is still active today helping vulnerable children in Africa. Later Kylee returned to Africa to begin the adoption process for Peace. This process went on for years and continued through Kylee’s last years here with us. She was a light to so many and in all aspects of life showed her profound commitment to improving lives around the world.
Kylee married Blake Walker on August 24th, 2014. In April of 2015 Kylee and Blake welcomed their daughter Clara to complete the trio of her 3 amazing children. Like the true entrepreneur she was with the help of her grandparents, George and Linda Henson, Kylee and her husband were able to open a car business “Walker Motor Works”. The dealership was so important to her as it was dedicated to contributing to many community programs, especially youth sports, honesty, integrity, and to treat customers and business partners with respect. Walker Motor Works also supported Harvest Vision Ministries and became well known in the fall for selling fresh sweet corn and collecting aluminum cans for Harvest Kids. The business eventually had to be closed in 2022 because of financial problems incurred from the pandemic, law changes and other matters beyond her control.
During the time owning the dealership Kylee also began a business selling Posh products and was very successful at it. She had a passion and a knack for selling anything from cars to beauty products, mostly due to her ability to relate to people in a way others couldn’t. She was even awarded as a top seller and was able to go to a Posh convention to celebrate with other team members, who quickly became her friends. Whatever Kylee did she was able to connect with so many and spread her joy, faith and compassion for others.
Kylee also enjoyed gardening, crafts and helping set up and coordinate any event for family and friends. She always made it a priority to attend her daughter’s events of any kind, as well as attending her nephews’ athletic games. She could always be found on the sideline cheering loudly with her hand-crafted attire to support her people. She absolutely loved celebrating her people. When anyone needed Kylee’s help, she didn’t ask questions or need all the answers - she just said “Ok” and did what needed to be done to support. This speaks volumes about Kylee’s character throughout her life. She and her mom, Christy, had this way about them. Always lending help to anyone who needed it and making sure everyone was okay.
As Kylee’s life may have ended here on Earth there is still more work to do. She will be up in heaven guiding those she left behind to continue her legacy. Guiding us to care for her 3 beautiful daughters, to get Peace home, and continue helping Harvest Vision Ministries. Anyone who knew her quickly knew of her dream to reach more people, more kids. To leave the world a better place than she found it.
Kylee is preceded in death by her mother, Christy Wilman. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Madilyn, Hailey, and Clara; her sister Keira; her brothers Kamron and Keaton; her father Jack; her grandparents George and Linda Henson; her Aunt and Uncle Linda and Terry Stretch; her nieces and nephews Xavier, Roman, Joseph, and Kahleia; her cousins Christian and Terica; and her husband Blake. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, but her spirit and contributions will continue to inspire and uplift those she touched.
In lieu of flowers or gifts please consider donating to Harvest Vision Ministries to continue Kylee’s legacy of engaging children in learning about God and providing essential supplies to underprivileged communities around the world.
