Krista Marie Rosier (nee Green), of Lake Stevens, Washington, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on April 3, 2025 at the age of 33 after a difficult and heroic 4 year battle with colon cancer. Krista was born and raised in Kirkland, Washington on April 23, 1991. An avid video game player as a child, it was only fitting that Krista's career carried her into the tech industry. She started working at Intellectual Ventures as an IT Intern in 2014, but quickly climbed her way through the company to become a department manager on account of her tremendous work ethic, curiosity, intelligence, and compassion for others. While she spent the vast majority of her life in Washington, she was able to live with her husband Keith in Texas during the COVID pandemic where she found several new desserts to love, particularly frozen custard.
Krista was a shining light in the lives of everyone she knew. Her intelligence, empathy, and selflessness was matched only by her beauty. Krista had 4 distinct laughs, ranging from 'giggle' to 'witch's cackle' and only the lucky among us got to experience them all. When she wasn't playing League of Legends with her husband, or the latest co-op horror game with her sister Amy, she would crochet fantastic works of art, care for her puppy Zelda, and turn an otherwise healthy cup of coffee into a deliciously indulgent milkshake. While Krista and Keith never got the chance to realize their dream of having children due to the ravages of cancer, they were still able to find endless love in each other every single day. Taken from us far, far too soon, she will be sorely missed and remembered with fondness and love for eternity.
She is survived by her husband Keith, her mother Sheilagh, her father Ken, her sisters Amy, Ashlee, and Jenny, her nieces Hailey, Adelle, Kelsie, and Makenna, her nephew Kyran, her dog Zelda, and all of the pieces of her heart she put out in the world whenever she crocheted something for someone.
A private viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 15th from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Schaefer Shipman funeral home in Marysville, Washington, followed by a memorial service from 11:00am - 12:30pm at the same location. A graveside dedication will be performed later that day at 2:00pm at the Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, Washington.
Please send flowers to Schaefer Shipman. Delivery should be scheduled for Tuesday the 15th before 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance charity (https://colorectalcancer.org/).
