John Henry Bligh III (77) of Marysville WA passed away on 5/3/2021 at his home after a long illness. John was born in New York, 1943 to John and Gertrude (Betty) Bligh. His Father was in the military and his duties took him to the Pacific Northwest. The family finally settled in Bothell, WA where John graduated from Bothell High School, class of 1962. In High School John played football and lettered in wrestling.
Prior to graduation John had enlisted in the National Guard. He served 8 years as a reservist. John was a Salesman for 45 years working for several companies. John was a very successful Store Manager at Radio Shack for 20 years where he was honored for his sales accomplishments.
If John wasn’t working, he could be found enjoying the outdoors. He enjoyed biking and hiking. He also enjoyed just getting out and going on long drives to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. John was an avid sports fan. enthusiastic supporter of the Seattle Seahawks. He was an original 12th man. From the very first season in 1977, he was a season ticket holder for many years. John also supported the Mariners, Sounders and the Sonics.
John was the best Dad and Grandpa, who’s greatest joy was supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s endeavors.
John is survived by his four children: Dee Dee Bach (Brian) of Concrete, Barbara Bligh of Marysville, Valorie Knauts of Lake Stevens and Katie Brostrom (Chris) of Lake Stevens. Two brothers: Richard Bligh (Vickie) of Marysville and Doug Bligh (Linda) of Seattle.
John had seven grandchildren: Timothy Evans, Courtney Evans, Brittney Knauts, Breanna Brostrom, Jacob Brostrom, Brody Brown and Desiree Bligh. He also had 3 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister Maureen Pollack. His Parents: John and Betty Bligh.
A private celebration of life is planned along with spreading his ashes at a later date.
