Jeannine Rae King (Scott), age 82, of Lake Stevens, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, after a courageous journey with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Jeannine was born on December 30, 1942, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Ray and Helen Scott (Wombacher). She grew up in Sequim, Washington, graduated from Seattle Pacific College in 1965 with a degree in education and later earned her master’s degree in special education from Seattle Pacific University. Jeannine began her career as a teacher and dedicated much of her life to supporting individuals with special needs through her work with non-profit organizations (Bridge Ministries for Disability Concerns and Eagle Wings disAbility Ministries).
On July 22, 1966, she married the love of her life, Timothy V. King. Together they shared 58 years of marriage, raising three sons and building a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Jeannine is survived by her devoted husband, Tim; their sons Duard (Heidi), Scott (Tonia), and Walter; her grandchildren Amanda Crombie (Robert), Erika Loomis (John), Gaeble King, and Greer King; her great-grandchildren Ellie Crombie and Grace Crombie, due in August; and her sisters Janet Robinson and Barbara O'Sullivan; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A long-time member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Marysville, WA, Jeannine was deeply spiritual, prayerful, and engaged in the life of her church. She was an elder, deacon, and clerk of session, as well as a lead prayer warrior. She was active in a knitting group, two small group Bible studies, and a book club—all of which brought her joy and meaningful connection.
Jeannine loved walking, hiking, knitting, playing games, and spending time with people. She walked across England, hiked the West Coast trail of Vancouver Island, attended mission trips in multiple countries, and volunteered regularly. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the way she lived out her faith daily, including her love of Scripture, which she read every day.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 5115 100th St NE, Marysville, WA, on Saturday May 3, 2025, at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. The service will be open to all who wish to celebrate her life.
Jeannine’s family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Eagle Wings disAbility Ministries. Donations can be made online at www.eaglewingsministries.org/donate or mailed to Eagle Wings disAbility Ministries, 1624 Grove Street, Suite D, Marysville, WA 98270.
