At the age of 19 she moved to Marysville where she stayed with her aunt and uncle until she met and married Jack Ackerman at the age of 22. They resided in Marysville and Everett, and owned Broadway Beverage and Delicatessen for 10 years, she then moved back to Marysville where she lived out the rest of her life.
She was a member of the Rebecca’s Lodge of Marysville, had many friends and loved playing pinochle and cribbage. She was also known for her beautiful signing voice and how she loved to sing and play the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents, younger brother Gene and sister-in-law Margaret, and leaves behind two daughters, Virginia (Jim) Spencer, and Claudia (Jim) Hall; six grandkids, and fourteen beautiful great grandkids.
There will be a memorial service for her on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Noon at the Marysville Cemetery, followed by an open house at 2:00 pm at the home of Jim and Virginia Spencer.
