Elaine Marie Schulte

Elaine loved the Lord, traveling, football, scrapbooking, and music, but most of all she loved her family. She touched the lives of so many people and she always found the good in everything. She inspired those around her, was so incredibly loving, was the best listener, and the best mom and friend anyone could ever have.

Elaine is survived by her husband Ed Douglas; her children Stephanie Garrett Place (Mike), Kim Fortin Christian (Jim), Matt Fortin (Stacey); her siblings Wayne Schulte (Linda), Eloise Scott, Barbara Boots, Steve Schulte (Kathy), brother-in-law David Madsen; grandchildren Joshua, Emilee and Johnathan McKamey, Carson and Preston Thayer, Braden, Dalton and Logan Fortin, along with many loved nieces, nephews, and friends around the world.

Elaine was proceeded in death by her parents Alvin and Mary Ann Schulte, brother Vernie Schulte, and sister Rebecca Madsen. A gravesite Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on September 2, 2023 in Hugoton, KS. A reception will follow at the Hugoton Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to Stephanie, Kim, or Matt who will make a donation to the charity of their mother’s wishes.
