David was born October 10, 1947 in Seattle, Washington to Woodrow and Lanore (O'Connor) Whitsett.
David attended Mountlake Terrace High School in Washington and he was one of the first at Boeing to work on the 737 and 747. He then left Boeing and became an area manager with Jack in the Box for over two decades. David dabbled a little bit at Mrs. Fields Cookies and 7-11 but ended up going back to Boeing where he worked up until the age of 72.
Many many years ago David met a neighbor girl next door who stole his heart and on October 20, 1965 they eloped. David had many interests including snow skiing, water skiing, bowling, being at the pool, boating but most of all he loved spending time with his family. David was also an avid Husky fan and was a season ticket holder for over 30 years.
He was so very proud of his beautiful daughters, Denise and Carrie, his grandkids and great granddaughter who all had his heart and also had such a special bond.
David is preceded in death by his lovely bride, Cheryl Whitsett, who he missed dearly. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Lanore Whitsett; his brother, Michael Whitsett; sisters, Joann Klones and Delores Manning; his father-in-law, Harlan (Mac) McDonell as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his daughters, Denis Whitsett and Carrie (Andre) Davis; his grandchildren, Zachary Collart (Chelsea), Devon Collart (Caitlin), Tinisha Davis (Aaron) and Courtnie Whitsett (Tyrone). He is also survived by his great granddaughter, Khyler Davis and mother-in-law Geraldine McDonell.
