A native of Bend, OR, Brian went into the Navy right after high school, where he was stationed on the USS Grant County (LST-1174). During his tour of duty, Brian participated in the naval blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962. Throughout his lifetime, Brian loved to work with his hands as a carpenter, machinist, and small engine repairman. Brian loved to spend time outdoors hunting and hiking, and was an avid fisherman. Brian volunteered as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and he loved to tend his roses.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Shera (nee Wiley) and his children, Jeffrey and Debi (Bob) Lewis and by his mother, Jennieve. Brian will be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Ashley, Thomas (Naomi), and Stephanie, and by his 2 great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Audrey. Brian will also be forever remembered by his siblings Dennis (Peryl), Kenneth (Liisa) and Beverley (Mark) Anderson and by his numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Brian was predeceased by his brother Timothy.
A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 21st at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave, Marysville, WA 98270. There will be a reception immediately following.
