Thomas Edward Watkins

Thomas Edward Watkins, 66, of Ridgeway Va. passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018. Thomas was born in Henry County to the late Edward (Dickie) Watkins and Lucy Watkins. Thomas was employed for many years by Pannill Knitting Company and Pluma. He then worked on the housekeeping staff at Patrick Henry Community College for 16 years until his retirement in 2016. Thomas loved trains, books, reading, and baseball except for the Red Sox. He was a loving, kind and faithful husband and friend. Thomas is survived by his wife, Susan Heldreth Watkins; brother-in-law Joseph Heldreth of Chapel Hill, NC; sister-in-law Beth Smith and her husband, Phillip of Danville VA; nephew, Jason Landrum of Shawsville, VA; niece, Rebecca Landrum of New York, NY. The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Rich Acres Christian Church with Minister Tim Hunt officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
