Roberta Snyder Stowe

Roberta Snyder Stowe, 90, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014. She was born on December 31, 1923 in Logan, West Virginia, daughter of Albert G. “Burt” Snyder and Eunice Martin Snyder Ingram. She was a 1942 graduate of Martinsville High School and retired from E. I. DuPont with over 40 years of service. She was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville for several years. Roberta was a member of Horsepasture Christian Church for most of her adult life and later attended Wayside Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Richard Stowe; her brother, Dallas Blevins and her step-father, Walter Ingram.

She is survived by her nieces, Betty B. Wright, Brenda B. Lemons & husband Charles and Bonnie Blevins all of Winston-Salem, NC ; several great nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Opal Blevins of Winston-Salem, NC.

Hassell and Betty DeShazo express sincere gratitude to Dr. Ben Lewis, Mt. Valley Hospice and all of her other care givers during her illness.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 26, 2014 starting at 10:00AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Rev. Bill Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Horsepasture Christian Church Cemetery in Ridgeway.
