Polly Strait Gibbs

Polly Ann Strait Gibbs, 88, of Collinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2015. She was born October 1, 1927 in Martinsville, Virginia to Nannie Mae Spencer Strait and John Roy Strait.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Reece Gibbs, and her daughter, Ruth Ann Gibbs McElroy, sisters, Edna S. Draper, Mary S. Eanes, Ruth S. Jamerson, and brothers, Paul S. Strait, Raymond W. Strait, John Roy Strait, Jr.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and kept attendance records there for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lea Gibbs O’Dell of Franklin County, grandchildren, William Vance McElroy III and wife Leslie, Michelle McElroy Pace and husband, Vince, Thomas Michael McElroy and wife Emilee, Matthew Joel O’Dell, and seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015, at 2 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will be held at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
