Peggy R. Martin

Peggy Ramsey (Mamae) Martin, 89, of Martinsville, Va., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Peggy was born on February 16, 1934, in Oak Level, Va., to the late Stephen Ramsey and Belle Ramsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Don "Daddy Don" Martin.

Peggy worked as an Executive Assistant at Tultex and after retiring for many years she became the smiling face that would greet you as you entered the YMCA of Martinsville. She was also a long time member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Martin Boaz (and husband Tommy Boaz), and her son, William (Will) Donald Martin II (and wife Donna Martin). Although Peggy loved her two children, she absolutely adored her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A private interment will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Mike Hatfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chatham Heights Baptist Church building fund, 1235 Chatham Heights Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
