Martha A. Davis

Martha Ann Davis, 71, of Martinsville, passed away on December 21, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born April 9, 1944 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Rebecca Nicholas Chapman and Thomas Christy Chapman.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Chapman Smith.

She is survived by her husband, R. M. “Bob” Davis, her son, Robert S. Davis and wife, Heather of LaGrange, Illinois and her daughter, Kristin D. Hernandez of Fort Mill, South Carolina, grandchildren, Nathan Davis, Lillian Davis, and Chad Hernandez, and nieces, Lauri Gerstner and Jenny Offstein.

Mrs. Davis volunteered her service at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County in the gift shop and at the information desk. She also served on the board of the Ladies Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital. She was a board member of The Patrick Henry Community College Foundation and served with “Cooks Who Care” at First Presbyterian Church. She also volunteered her services at the Smith River Sports Complex and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, Martinsville with Rev. Mark Hinchcliff officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, December 28, 2015, from 6 PM until 8 PM at McKee - Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel.
