Joseph Randolph Patterson

Joseph Randolph Patterson, 80, of Collinsville, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home. He was born May 5, 1935 in Henry County to John Pedigo Patterson and Erma Hope Bennett, both deceased.

Mr. Patterson served his military duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, Texas from 1958 through 1961 and was a Plant Engineering Consultant from E.I. DuPont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Patterson and two brothers, Windell R. Patterson and William Douglas Patterson.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia A. Patterson of the home, a daughter Marie Evans and her husband, Jon, of North Carolina, a son, Bryan Keith Patterson and wife, Becky, of Martinsville, a sister, Erma Louise Turner of Martinsville, four grandchildren; Sherri Smith, Erin K. Patterson, Jacob Evans and Daniel Evans; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Brogan and Julia Altice.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at McKee Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Pastor Jim Steele officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Interment will take place at Roselawn Burial Park with full military honors.
