Joseph Dudley Merriman

Joseph Dudley “Joe” Merriman, 63, of Spencer, died Friday, December 2, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Henry Co., on October 27, 1948 to the late Orrin Dudley Merriman and Elsie Martin Merriman. Joe had worked for Bank Services for over eight years before becoming disabled. Joe was a graduate from Patrick Henry Community College and furthered his education in food preparation at the New York Culinary Institute. He was a member of Old Well Christian Church where he was their organist and pianist.

He is survived by one sister, Carol Ann Bondurant of Ridgeway, one niece, one nephew, three great nieces and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Old Well Christian Church, burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the church and other times at the home of his sister at 150 Grand Lake Road, Ridgeway.
