Gary Willis Wright Jr.

Gary Willis Wright, Jr., passed away at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, Rocky Mount, VA on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 after battling a long term illness. Gary was born in Annapolis, Maryland on June 6, 1956 and was preceded in death by his father, Gary Willis Wright, Sr.; mother, Ramona Hankins Burford and step-father, John B. Burford. Gary is survived by his son, Gary Willis Wright, III; brother, John A. Burford and wife Patti; sister, D’Ann Burford and fiancé Jerry Reeves; two grandchildren and two nephews. Gary had been a resident of Trinity Mission Health and Rehab since September of 2012 and prior to that lived in Martinsville, Virginia. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1974 and served in the United States Navy for two years. Gary had a love for the water and enjoyed the beach and fishing. He also enjoyed reading, building furniture, working with flowers, playing cards and Scrabble. The family would like to thank all the staff that took care of Gary during his stay at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
