She was preceded in death by her father, David W. Pace; sister, Pamela Pace Gatlin; maternal grandparents, John and Ruby Scott of Ridgeway, Va.; paternal grandparents, John and Althea Pace of Ridgeway, Va.
She is survived by her mother, Shelby Scott Pace of Martinsville; her sister, Ann Pace Coler and brother-in-law, Mike Coler of Wake Forest, NC.
Betsy was a 1975 graduate of Drewry Mason High School and a 1979 graduate of Ferrum College. Betsy began her career with the Henry County Parks and Recreation. She joined the City of Martinsville in 1993 and retired in 2021 after many years of serving the senior citizens of Martinsville. Betsy is fondly remembered by many for her friendliness and willingness to always help others.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at McKee Stone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. J.D. Harmon. Interment will follow the service at the Pace Family Cemetery in Ridgeway.
