Dorothy Arledge Bishop

Dorothy Marie Arledge Bishop, 98, of Fieldale, Va., passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. She was born in Patrick County on April 23, 1919 to Harry F. and Ida Kendrick Arledge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Simmons Bishop; sisters, Pauline A. Wilson and Pansy A. Hines and a brother, Ray F. Arledge.

She is survived by her son, Keith Jackson Bishop and wife Terri.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of Fieldale Baptist Church, a graduate of Fieldale High School and Gassaway College. She worked clerical positions at Fieldale Mills and Roy Stone Transfer.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18th from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
