Carl Minter Eggleston, 81, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Blue Ridge Manor, where he was a resident. He was born in Henry County, November 4, 1930 to Dorsey Minter Eggleston and Emma Vera Clore Eggleston.
He graduated from Virginia Tech and entered the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant where he served for two years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayland Eggleston.
Surviving are two brothers, James C. Eggleston of Richmond and Judson N. Eggleston of Martinsville; six nephews and two nieces.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:30 pm at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lynn Bechdolt officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
