Ann W. Wooldridge Spencer

Ann Wooldridge Spencer, 79, of Meadowview Lane in Martinsville, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at home with her children. She was born in Martinsville on August 27, 1932 to the late John Carlton and Kathryn Rowell Wooldridge. Ann was a 1950 graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Mary Washington College. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Bassett Garden Gate Garden Club and was an avid Bridge player. She retired from J. C. Wooldridge, Inc. where she was Vice-President. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband, Rudolph H. Spencer; a son, John W. Spencer and a brother, John C. Wooldridge, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn A. Spencer of Raleigh, NC; one son, W. David Spencer of Martinsville; one sister, Sue W. Rosser of Martinsville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Roy Pollina and the Rev. Charles Wickham officiating. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service (2:00 to 3:00pm) at McKee-Stone Funeral Home.
