He was the son of Homer and Kathleen (Magaha) Samsell.
He graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1964 and later received an Associate Degree from Shepherd College.
He was an electrical designer for the Frick Company/Johnson Controls in Waynesboro. Later he was founder, owner and operator of Samsell Security, providing security for local businesses, high school athletic activities and for the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival in Kearneysville, W.Va.
He enjoyed woodworking and model trains.
He was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church in Marlowe.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Verdier Samsell and a sister, Eileen Smith of Williamsport, Md.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10 am to the start of memorial service at 11 am.
