I am so sorry for your family's loss. I am just finding  out now of his passing. Roger was my mechanic, and I considered him a friend. He was such a kind man. I remembered the caring he showed when I would bring my dog Austin to his shop. Your family always treated me well, and I will never forget him. Martinsburg is not the same since his shop closed. Love.you Roger.

You’re all in my thoughts and prayers. Roger was a good person. I remember going to his shop to get my truck worked on. My dad told me I could trust Roger to be fair and honest with my vehicle work. A great loss to this community. May he Rest In Peace.

Roger was a friendly soul and honest businessman.  He always made us feel so welcomed and appreciated when we came into his business.   His laugh was contagious and he will be missed!


I always went to Rogers auto and tire service. I enjoyed seeing him and trying telling him to give me the relative discount. He says now I always give you a discount, but not really.  He said he needed to make a dollar. Haha

As we pass through life we meet a lot of people.  Some good, some bad and some special. Roger was one of the special ones.  His smile, contagious laugh and good heart made him special.  I pray memories of him help his family to heal and find peace.

Dear Family and friends of Roger, I am so sorry to hear of Roger's passing, because 76 to me seems so young. I will always remember Roger's goodness and big heart. When I learned to know Roger thru his automotive business he was always a big help to me. I was raising a family at the time and Roger helped me with my vehicles by being fair and honest in what was needed and price, which helped me help my family. Even something as small as a place to recycle my lawnmower oil, Roger was always there for me. I will never forget his smile and kindness and his never ending willingness to try to help in anyway he could; it is things from the heart like this that persons like me never forget. May God's blessing and support be with you in this time of sorrow.

I am very saddened to hear of Roger's passing.  When my late wife and I moved to  WV from MD in 2002,  we asked around about a reliable, honest and reasonable mechanic to service our vehicles.  Roger's Tire and Auto was the one recommendation we heard over and over, so we decided to give him a try.  For the next 19 years we patronized his shop for service, inspections, etc.  He and Cindy treated us like family.  When they closed the business last July, I was disappointed but glad that Roger and Cindy were going to be able to enjoy their retirement.  My sincere condolences to her and the rest of the family over their terrible loss.

I was just informed Saturday the 11th of December that my biological father roger frye passed away. I know next to nothing about him other than he was an amazing mechanic. That thought perfectly explains to me my pure obsession with mechanics and automobiles. Roger/dad; I never met you in person; but rest assured the son you adopted out has your touch in mechanics and shares your ability to always want to help people. God bless you and godspeed. Cindy, I am so sorry to hear about Roger's passing.  He was the only mechanic I trusted and could depend on.  One time in my younger years, when Roger had the Tire and Battery Center on Queen Street,  my little old opal broke down on Shepherdstown Road.  It wouldn't go in first gear.  Being young I was scared to death to start off in second gear. Anyway Roger had someone from the shop to drive him down to me and he drove it back to the shop. He has always been my hero as far as working on my cars. And yes that laugh is definitely one that will be missed. I was so disappointed when he told me he was closing up shop but he didn't tell me why. I could tell something was wrong.  You guys worked so well together. I admired your relationship.  You have lost an angel but you will see him again one day.  Cherish all your memories.  Will keep you and your family in my prayers. May he rest in peace.

Roger and I go back to the TOLL HOUSE DAYS.  A good friend for all those years. He was my go to mechanic and never once failed me in any way. I am extremely saddened and so very sorry for his passing and I know Cindy will remain in my thoughts and prayers forever. I had just recently taken some photos of Roger and Cindy and in his one of a kind laugh wondered why I would take his photo. Roger was a one of a kind person, a friend who was always there when you needed him. We had many talks about those crazy TOLL HOUSE DAYS and Roger always laughed at and said, Craig how did we ever get through that time? We both laughed the laugh that friends have remembering!  I have many memories of Roger that will remain with me. I will miss Roger, his laugh, his friendship and his great knowledge of life in Martinsburg.  GOD surely needed a great mechanic to check the running of each soul who enters through the Pearly Gates of Heaven. REST IN PEACE my friend you are missed here on every block in this town. May GOD BLESS CINDY and help her through this, her time of greatest need.  

Roger was one of my most Loved Cousin, we spent many days as teenagers hanging out when we did not have to work. We spent many hours running around in his Hot 1957 Chevy, it was like a jet, what power! He had several hot rods. He was a very trustworthy man, very good mechanic. He was a friend to all and always willing to help with my car issues. Our world has lost another Good Soul! Roger, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten! With my Love, Ronnie Breeden Sr.

Roger and his parents and brothers and sisters and his children have been a part of my life forever through church and school. He was a wonderful man. Prayers for the family.

Roger took care of many flat repairs for our farm equipment. He was always smiling. He will be missed by many.

I knew Roger for 15 years. He was a devoted Christian, Father, Grandfather, Husband and friend.  You always knew what to expect from Roger.  He was morally correct, and exemplified that daily. 
he cared deeply for his family and friends. He would ask a customer how so and so was that he hadn't seen for awhile.    I'm comforted to know that Roger is out of pain and with our Lord and savior now.
