Born on June 14, 1949 in Ranson, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James and Phyllis Painter.
Robert was a member of the Second Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all that knew him. He was a wonderful husband and father that loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years Dixie Painter; daughter Laura Painter and fiancé Lewis Allen; grandchildren: Tiffany Voorhees, Jason Voorhees, Nathan Painter, Cameron Voorhees, and Jordan Voorhees; sister-in-law, Wanda Smith and mother-in-law, Hazel Smith.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Jayden Voorhees.
A memorial service will be held at Second Southern Baptist Church on October 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Second Baptist Church.
