Raymond R Marks Jr.

Raymond “Sonny” R. Marks, Jr., 67, of Martinsburg, WV, went to be with the Lord on January 28th at 4:39pm at Berkeley Medical Center after an extended illness.

Sonny Marks was born November 4, 1946 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, MD. He was the first child born to Hilda E. and Raymond R. Marks, Sr.

He attended South Hagerstown High School.

Sonny served in the US Army with the 554th Engineer Battalion, and tour took him to Lai Khe, Vietnam. On returning to USA, he was a brick layer. He worked for Essroc Cement Plant until his retirement. Sonny also worked for his father at Reds Radiator Service in Martinsburg and continued the business after his father’s death.

Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Raymond R. Marks, Sr., and his son, Corey A. Marks.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jacqueline L. Marks; son, Ryan R.W. Marks; his mother, Hilda E. Marks of Mercersburg, PA; his sisters, Sherry M. Marks of Mercersburg, PA and Teressa L. Preston of Hagerstown, MD. In addition he is survived by one aunt, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be private at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Sonny will be deeply missed by his wife, son and his faithful cat, Alfie.
