Ray Chester Sword

Born on December 26, 1940 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James and Verna Leevy Sword.

Ray retired from Halltown Paperboard after 30 years. He was an avid Redskins fan and enjoyed watching Nascar and Wrestling.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Sword Patterson and her husband, Donald; grandchildren: Eric Patterson, April Sword, and Amy Patterson; great-grandchildren: Dymonae Swann, Amaya Taylor, Camron Lafond, Ciarra Riggs, Zaine Patterson, and Gavin Gladhill; one great-great-grandchild expected in June 2022; and his siblings: Bernice Drum of North Carolina, Beverly Butts of Martinsburg, and Joyce Miller of Kearneysville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Florence S. Pack and Kenneth E. Sword; his nephew, Randy; and his brother-in-law, Lee.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 11am until the time of the funeral at 1pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
