As a young man John grew up spending summers with family and friends at Point Lookout, Maryland. As a young father and avid outdoorsman and fisherman, the tradition continued with camping , boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and the Outer Banks of NC. John’s sense of adventure provided the opportunity for many camping vacations, traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada.
As a young adult, John followed in the footsteps of his family members, joining the International Union of Elevator Constructors and worked for the Otis Elevator Company in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Model trains were a passion for him and a source of outreach for him. He served on the mission field in Haiti, taking numerous trips to drill wells to provide clean water for many and to work on many other areas of need. He was a talented carpenter with excellent woodworking skills.
John and Gail retired and made their home in the Shenandoah Valley in Martinsburg, WV.
John’s family rejoices in the fact that he has found peace and rest and is now home with the Lord he loved so much.
